Getting Started
Hello!
Firstly, a big warm welcome to the Dark Pretenses RPG and thank you for joining. If you are reading this your application to join the RPG has been approved. This page will explain to you what happens next.
1) You should have recieved an approval email, and this asks you to submit a character profile. Sending in your character profile is the first step.
2) Once your profile has been approved it will be added to the website by me. You will then recieve an invite to the RPG Group and you can start roleplaying!
3) If you are not familar with Yahoo! Groups don't panic. Take a look through the easy to understand Help Section provided by Yahoo, and then email me if you have any questions.
4) Take the time to read through the website again, especially the rules page, before you start posting. Book-marking/adding the website to your favorites is a good idea so you can check things when you need to.
5) I know from my own experience that finding a starting place in a new RPG isn't always easy, and you might be frightened of jumping in at the wrong place. I suggest finding a public place where at least one other character is present. Start by posting a post that introduces your character into that area and tag other characters in the subject line of your post.
6) If you prefer you can email the player before tagging them in your subject line, or post something to the OOC Group asking if anyone has a place where you can jump in.
7) Never be afraid to ask a question, or ask for help. The same goes for contacting other players. I consider interaction to be the key to a good RPG so be prepared to contact others and answer emails from other players. Don't always expect them to contact you, remember that communication goes both ways.
